
MEET
Shay Hawkins is a true, hardworking Buckeye.
Raised in Cleveland’s suburbs by the Pastor and First Lady of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Shay learned what it meant to personally demonstrate love to one’s neighbors.
Shay would later earn his undergraduate degree in economics from The Ohio State University, his MBA from Columbia Business School as a Credit Suisse First Boston Fellow, and his JD from the Moritz College of Law at OSU.

Shay Hawkins is the leader Ohio needs in Washington.
Shay’s experience covers an array of legislative and political work important to our community. He served as Senator Tim Scott’s lead policy advisor through the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and has worked with Treasury to develop regulations for Opportunity Zones that will rapidly deploy capital into distressed communities.
Shay has testified before the Senate Finance Committee and several House Committees regarding a wide spectrum of policy issues. He has also taught both law and economics at the college level.
